Die Progressive-Metal-Titanen Sacrosanct haben einen weltweiten Plattenvertrag mit dem Powerhouse-Label ROAR unterzeichnet, das stolz darauf ist, das kommende Studioalbum der Band mit dem Titel „Kidron“ zu veröffentlichen!

Es ist der erste Track, der für Sacrosant’s fünftes, neues Album „Kidron“ geschrieben wurde, und eine Art Signature-Song für das Album. Der Song handelt von Francis, ihrem Maskottchen und vereint die unverwechselbare melancholische Stimmung von Sacrosant, ist aber gleichzeitig verständlich, ohne kommerziell ansprechend zu sein. Eine komplexe, aber eingängige Progressive Metal Hymne!
Sacrosanct, gegründet 1988, sind ein angesehener Name in der Metal-Szene, der vor allem für seine drei klassischen Alben aus den frühen 1990er Jahren bekannt ist: „Truth is – what is“, „Recesses for the depraved“ und „Tragic intense“.
Der Sacrosanct-Sound entwickelte sich allmählich von anspruchsvollem Thrash Metal zu einer kantigen, melodischeren und atmosphärischeren Klanglandschaft. Die Idee von Gründungsmitglied und Leadgitarrist Randy Meinhard (ex-Pestilence) kehrte 2018 nach einer 25-jährigen Pause mit ihrem vierten Album „Necropolis“ zurück, das hochgelobt wurde und alle Markenzeichen und Feinheiten trägt, die Sacrosanct ausmachen, mit einem starken Schwerpunkt auf melancholischen Melodien und Harmoniegitarrenparts sowie einem Fokus auf zum Nachdenken anregende Texte. Sechs Jahre später kehren Sacrosanct mit dem noch kraftvolleren, immer noch komplexen, aber eingängigen „Kidron“ zurück und stellen ihren neuen Sänger Max Morton vor, der das Album mit seiner klaren, dynamischen und einzigartigen Stimme in den Schatten stellt. „Das Album vereint all unsere Trademarks, hat durch all die Umstände, die wir durchmachen mussten, eine einzigartige Atmosphäre und ist zugänglich und komplex zugleich“, kommentiert Randy Meinhard.
Das Besondere an Sacrosanct ist, dass jedes Album anders klingt. „Wir schreiben und spielen Songs immer auf unsere eigene Art und Weise. Wir können und wollen unsere Wurzeln nicht verleugnen. Natürlich waren unsere ersten Alben thrashlastiger, aber in den Songs war viel mehr los. Darauf kann man uns einfach nicht reduzieren. Ich persönlich liebe Metal von Maiden über Priest bis hin zu Fates Warning, VoiVod oder Slayer. Beim Schreiben von Songs versuche ich herauszufinden, wie heavy oder „kommerziell“ ein Song auf unsere eigene Art und Weise sein kann. Aber wir wollen die Leute immer mit der Musik berühren und wenn sich zum Beispiel ein Blastbeat mit den klassischen Sacrosanct-Riff-Markenzeichen kombinieren lässt, dann sind wir bei „KIDRON“ angekommen.“

It’s the first track written for SACROSANCT’s fifth, new album „Kidron“ and kind of a signature-song for the record. The song talks about Francis, their mascot and combines SACROSANCT’s distinctive melancholic mood, but at the same time is comprehensible without being commercially appealing. A complex, but catchy progressive metal hymn!
SACROSANCT, established in 1988, are a well respected name in the metal scene, most known for their three classic albums during the early 1990s: “Truth is – what is”, “Recesses for the depraved” and “Tragic intense”.
The SACROSANCT signature sound gradually progressed from sophisticated thrash metal to a more edgy, melodic and atmospheric aural landscape. The brainchild of founding member and lead guitar player Randy Meinhard (ex-Pestilence) returned in 2018, after a 25-year hiatus, with their fourth album “Necropolis”, which was highly acclaimed and bears all of the hallmarks and intricacies that defines SACROSANCT, with a strong emphasis on melancholic melodies and harmony guitar parts as well as a focus on thought-provoking lyrics. Six years later, SACROSANCT return with the even more powerful, still complex, but catchy „Kidron“, introducing their new singer Max Morton, who outshines the album with his clear, dynamic and unique voice. “The album combines all our trademarks, has a unique atmosphere due to all the circumstances we had to go through and is accessible and complex at the same time”, comments Randy Meinhard.
The special thing about SACROSANCT is, that every album sounds different. “We always write and play songs in our own way. We can’t and won’t deny our roots. Of course, our first albums were more thrash-heavy, but there was a lot more going on in the songs. You just can’t reduce us to that. I personally love metal from Maiden to Priest to Fates Warning, VoiVod or Slayer. When writing songs, I try to find out how heavy or „commercial“ a song can be in our own way. But we always want to touch people with the music and if, for example, a blastbeat can be combined with the classic Sacrosanct riff trademarks, then we have arrived at “KIDRON”.„
