Neues aus dem Hause: The Red Chord
„Clients“, das nunmehr bahnbrechende vollständige Album von The Red Chord, wird am 17. Oktober zum ersten Mal auf Vinyl über Metal Blade Records veröffentlicht. Die Veröffentlichung erfolgt zur Feier des 20-jährigen Bestehens des Albums!
The Red Chord gilt als eine der einflussreichsten Crossover-Bands der Genres Hardcore, Grind und Metal. Nach der Unterzeichnung ihres Vertrags bei Metal Blade im Jahr 2004 veröffentlichte die Band 2005 ihr zweites Album „Clients“, das von Kritikern hoch gelobt wurde. Als eines der dynamischsten und eindringlichsten Alben des Jahres erhielt „Clients“ die erste perfekte Bewertung von Decibel (Mai 2005, Ausgabe Nr. 7) und erhielt die folgende Rezension: „In einer Zeit, in der Bands sich durch Anbiederung an den kleinsten gemeinsamen Nenner eine sofortige Fangemeinde aufbauen, hat The Red Chord seinen Erfolg dadurch erreicht, dass es alle Vorsicht über Bord geworfen und seine großartigen Songs und kraftvollen Live-Shows überall dort präsentiert hat, wo man sie haben wollte.
„Um ehrlich zu sein, sind es die Songs dieses Quintetts, die den Unterschied ausgemacht und dafür gesorgt haben, dass ihre Bekanntheit explosionsartig gestiegen ist.“ Mit einer Bewertung von 4/5 schrieb Alternative Press: „„Clients“ explodiert mit dem Stampfen des Hardcore, der Geschwindigkeit des Grindcore, den Tempowechseln des Math-Metal und den kehligen Vocals und schrillen Gitarrenklängen des technischen Death Metal; aber letztendlich ist es die Finesse der Band, all diese Elemente zu einem einzigen Wirbel zu verweben, der euch beim Anhören des Albums die Kinnlade herunterfallen lässt.“ Pitchfork stimmte zu und lobte einen „rasenden Ausbruch kompromissloser Aggression, der das Chaos, die growlenden Vocals und die blitzschnellen Beats von Death Metal und Grindcore mit der technischen Brillanz von experimentellem Math Metal und gelegentlichen treibenden Midtempo-Hardcore-Rhythmen verbindet.“ Blabbermouth fügte hinzu: „Es ist extremistische Musik, die du in deinen Knochen spüren kannst, die die primalen Bedürfnisse befriedigt und die den Verstand stimuliert und/oder verletzt.“

Clients, the now-landmark full-length from THE RED CHORD, will see release on vinyl for the first time ever on October 17th via Metal Blade Records. The release comes in celebration of the record’s 20th anniversary!
THE RED CHORD has been cited as one of the most influential crossover bands of the hardcore, grind, and metal genres. After signing with Metal Blade in 2004, the band unleashed their second full-length, Clients in 2005, to widespread critical acclaim. Standing among one of the most dynamic and poignant albums of that year, Clients landed Decibel’s first-ever perfect score (May 2005, Issue No. 7), the review reading in part, „In this day and age of bands developing instant followings by pandering to the lowest common denominator… THE RED CHORD attained their success by throwing caution to the wind and taking their awesome songs and robust live show anywhere that would host ‚em. Truth be told, it’s this quintet’s songs that have made the difference and caused their profile to explode, car bomb-style.“ In a 4/5 rating, Alternative Press wrote, „Clients explodes with the chug of hardcore, the velocity of grindcore, the time changes of math-metal, and the guttural vocals and pinched guitar squeals of technical death metal; but ultimately, it’s the band’s finesse at weaving this stuff into a blur that’ll have you scraping your jaw off the floor when the album’s playing.“ Pitchfork concurred lauding a, „frenzied blast of uncompromising aggression that fuses the chaos, growling vocals, and lightning-fast beats of death metal and grindcore with the technical prowess of experimental math metal and the occasional driving, mid-tempo hardcore rhythm.“ Added Blabbermouth, „It’s extreme music that you can feel in your bones, that satisfies the primal urges, and that stimulates and/or scars the mind.“
