Profound Lore Records präsentiert „Ego Dissolution“, das mit Spannung erwartete Debütalbum der in Walpole, Massachusetts, ansässigen Cosmic Death Metal-Truppe Ancient Death.

Durch die Mischung aus progressivem und technischem Death Metal mit kosmischen und üppigen Atmosphären schaffen Ancient Death eine einzigartige Klanglandschaft der Introspektion und des Wachstums. Die Band wurde im Sommer 2019 von Bassistin/Sängerin Jasmine Alexander, Gitarrist Ray Brouwer (Matriphagy) und Gitarrist/Sänger Jerry Witunsky (Atheist) gegründet, kurz darauf folgte Schlagzeuger Derek Malone Moniz (Cruciamentum, Churchburn). Mit ihrer EP „Sacred Vessel im Jahr 2022“, der Single „Glowing Auras“ im Jahr 2023 (einem Split mit Putridarium) und ihren Demo-Veröffentlichungen 2024 hat sich die Band weiter ausgebreitet und die Grenzen der Ehrlichkeit und Verletzlichkeit verschoben.

Jetzt erscheint Ancient Death’s Debütalbum „Ego Dissolution“, das die Band von ihrer bisher wildesten und kreativsten Seite zeigt und die Atmosphären und die Achtsamkeit ihrer inneren und äußeren Welten weiter ausbaut. „Ego Dissolution“ wurde von Seth Manchester bei Machines With Magnets (The Body, Lightning Bolt, Full Of Hell) aufgenommen und gemischt, von Dan Lowndes bei Resonance Sound (Leviathan, Krieg, Cruciamentum) gemastert und mit Cover-Artwork von Maegan LeMay (Morbosidad, Cirith Ungol, Spilt Milk Tattoo) versehen.

Die Band verrät: „“Ego Dissolution“ befasst sich mit dem Spektrum der Emotionen und verletzlicheren Themen wie Depression, Liebe, Trauer, persönlichem Wachstum, Isolation, Hoffnung, Tod, innerem Frieden usw. Sie sind ein Spiegelbild dessen, wer wir sind. Indem wir tiefer in uns hineinschauen und unsere Emotionen annehmen, hoffen wir, dass andere lernen, einfühlsamer und mitfühlender mit sich selbst und anderen umzugehen.“

„‚Breaking the Barriers Of Hope‘ drückt aus, wie das Verbreiten von Negativität, ob bewusst oder unbewusst, oft fehlgeleitet ist und uns isoliert. Negativität kann sich in vielen Formen zeigen, wie z.B. Eifersucht, Gier, Egoismus oder Mangel an Mitgefühl. Das ist es, was uns zum uralten Tod der menschlichen Verbindung führt. Dies war der erste Song, der für das Album geschrieben wurde. Es zeigt unseren aggressiveren Ansatz, der mit unseren atmosphärischeren Stimmungen und Tönen verzahnt ist.“

Profound Lore Records presents Ego Dissolution, the anticipated debut full-length album from Walpole, Massachusetts-based cosmic death metal force, ANCIENT DEATH.

Blending progressive and technical death metal with cosmic and lush atmospheres, ANCIENT DEATH creates a unique soundscape of introspection and growth. The band was formed in the summer of 2019 by bassist/vocalist Jasmine Alexander, guitarist Ray Brouwer (Matriphagy), and guitarist/vocalist Jerry Witunsky (Atheist), soon followed by drummer Derek Malone Moniz (Cruciamentum, Churchburn). Through their Sacred Vessel EP in 2022, the single “Glowing Auras” in 2023 (a split with Putridarium), and their Demo 2024 releases, the band has continued to expand and push the envelope of honesty and vulnerability.

Now, ANCIENT DEATH’s debut full-length album Ego Dissolution arrives, showcasing the band at their most fierce and creative thus far, further expanding on the atmospheres and mindfulness of their inner and outer worlds. Ego Dissolution was recorded and mixed by Seth Manchester at Machines With Magnets (The Body, Lightning Bolt, Full Of Hell), mastered by Dan Lowndes at Resonance Sound (Leviathan, Krieg, Cruciamentum), and features cover art by Maegan LeMay (Morbosidad, Cirith Ungol, Spilt Milk Tattoo).

The band reveals, “Ego Dissolution deals with the spectrum of emotions and more vulnerable topics such as depression, love, grief, personal growth, isolation, hope, death, inner peace, etc. They are reflections of who we are. By looking deeper within ourselves and embracing our emotions, our hope is that others will learn to be more empathetic and compassionate towards themselves and one another.

“‘Breaking the Barriers Of Hope’ expresses how spreading negativity, whether consciously or subconsciously, is often misguided and isolates us. Negativity can show itself in many forms such as jealousy, greed, selfishness, or lack of compassion. This is what leads us to The Ancient Death of Human Connection. This was the first song written for the album. It showcases our more aggressive approach meshed with our more atmospheric moods and tones.”
