„Bleed“ wurde von Rubio N. in Fort Worth & Austin, TX entwickelt und gemixt und von Jordan Richardson bei Electric Barryland gemastert. Das Artwork wurde von Frank Maddocks, dem langjährigen Mitarbeiter von Deftones / Linkin Park, geschaffen.

Bleed’s Einführungs-EP „Somebody’s Closer“ wurde von der Band im Jahr 2021 zunächst in Eigenregie über digitale Plattformen veröffentlicht. Obwohl es zu dieser Zeit noch keine physische Veröffentlichung gab, verschaffte die EP, die sich an den Alt Rock / Metal der späten 90er / frühen 00er Jahre erinnert, der Band aus Dallas, Texas, mit ihrer hauchdünnen Verzerrung, die Spannung und Atmosphäre ausbalanciert, viel Aufsehen und wurde durch mehrere gemeinsame Verbindungen auf 20 Buck Spin aufmerksam. Das Label veröffentlichte 2022 Vinyl- und Kassetten-Editionen, die die Musik von Bleed einem neuen Publikum und einer breiteren Aufmerksamkeit zugänglich machten. Seitdem ist die Vorfreude auf das Debütalbum der Band auf den Höhepunkt gestiegen, und endlich kommt sie, wenn der Frühling in den Sommer übergeht.

Die selbstbetitelte LP von Bleed behält die melodische Härte und die straffen Songstrukturen der EP bei, während sie kopfüber in den ozeanischen Dunst eintauchen und ihren Sound in ein immer eindringlicheres, unerbittlicheres und hypnotischeres Territorium treiben. Gitarren wogen und wiegen sich in gestapelten Wellen der Gravitationsangst, übersteuerte Rhythmen pulsieren exzentrisch darunter, und die Stimme von Gitarrist / Sänger Ryan Hughes schwebt ein und aus, manchmal fern und losgelöst, manchmal vor Verzweiflung aufgerissen. Die Texte bewegen sich in Fragmenten und spielen auf Themen wie tiefe interne Kämpfe, Bewältigungsmechanismen und das Verletzen derer an, die man am meisten liebt. Es ist Musik, die nicht so sehr Aufmerksamkeit verlangt, sondern direkt in den Blutkreislauf sickert, die Art von Album, die sich um 3 Uhr morgens endlos im Hinterkopf wiederholt.

Von Anfang an werden mutige Schritte unternommen, um die Authentizität des Bleed-Universums in seinen Inspirationen und Ambitionen zu erweitern. Die Art und Weise, wie Bleed diese Songs entfalten lässt, hat ein gewisses Selbstvertrauen, sie hinterlassen ihre Wirkung sofort und müssen nicht länger als nötig bestehen bleiben. Das Ergebnis ist ein Album, das sich massiv und doch intim, brutal und doch schön, vertraut und doch einzigartig anfühlt. Es hinterlässt nicht nur einen Eindruck, es bleibt bestehen und hallt noch lange nach, nachdem die letzten Töne verklungen sind.

20 Buck Spin proudly announces the highly anticipated self-titled debut full-length of alternative rock / metal act BLEED, set for release on May 2nd 2025 on all formats.

„Bleed“ was engineered and Mixed by Rubio N. in Fort Worth & Austin, TX and mastered by Jordan Richardson at Electric Barryland. The artwork was created by longtime Deftones / Linkin Park collaborator Frank Maddocks.

BLEED’s introductory EP „Somebody’s Closer“ was initially self-released by the band through digital platforms in 2021. Despite no physical release at the time, the EP, invoking late 90s / early 00’s era alt rock / metal gained the Dallas, Texas-based band a lotta buzz with its gauzy distortion balancing tension and atmosphere, and via several mutual connections came to the attention of 20 Buck Spin. The label issued vinyl and cassette editions in 2022 bringing BLEED’s music to new audiences and wider attention. Since that time the anticipation for the band’s debut full length has built to fever pitch, and at long last it arrives as Spring heads into Summer.

BLEED’s self-titled LP maintains the melodic heaviness and tight song structures of the EP, while diving headfirst into the oceanic haze, pushing their sound into territory more immersive, relentless and hypnoticlly lush. Guitars surge and sway in stacked waves of gravitational angst, overdriven rhythms eccentrically pulsing beneath, and guitarist / singer Ryan Hughes’s voice floating in and out, sometimes distant and detached, sometimes cracked open with desperation. Lyrics move in fragments, alluding to themes of deep interntal struggle, coping mechanisms and hurting those you love most. It’s music that doesn’t so much demand attention as seeps straight into the bloodstream, the kind of album that endlessly loops in the back of the mind at 3 a.m.

Bold strides are taken right outta the gate to make the authenticity of BLEED’s universe more expansive in its inspirations and ambitions. There’s a confidence to the way BLEED let’s these songs unfold, they make their impact immediate and have no need to persist longer than necessary. The result is an album that feels massive yet intimate, brutal yet beautiful, familar yet singular. It doesn’t simply leave an impression, it lingers, reverberating long after the final notes have faded.
