Power-Metal-Fans, macht euch bereit! Das süddeutsche Kraftpaket Brainstorm bereitet sich auf die Veröffentlichung seines neuen Albums „Plague Of Rats“ vor, das euch umhauen und eure Ohren rocken wird! Entstanden in Zusammenarbeit mit ihrem bewährten Team – Sebastian „Seeb“ Levermann für Mixing und Mastering in den Greenman Studios, Gyula Havancsák für das Artwork und Alex Kühr für die Fotografie – liefert dieses Album zehn epische neue Tracks, die die Fans in die fesselnde Welt Indiens und darüber hinaus entführen.
Der Sänger Andy B. Franck erklärt: „Die Geschichte Indiens reicht 5.000 Jahre zurück und die Indus-Zivilisation ist eine der ältesten der ganzen Welt. Mit ‚Maharaja Palace‘ (‚Ambiguity‘), aber vor allem mit unserem Durchbruch mit dem Album „Soul Temptation“, war es mir wichtig, meine Vorliebe für diese Geschichte und Kultur in unsere Musik einzubringen. Ich denke, es passt einfach gut zum Sound von Brainstorm. Ich liebe den Sound und die Harmonien in der indischen Musik und ich denke, es war an der Zeit, wieder in die Geschichte einzutauchen und diesen ganz besonderen Glanz in unsere Musik zu bringen.“
Er fügt hinzu: „“Plague Of Rats“ ist mehr ‚in your face‘ und sehr direkt. Ich finde, es passt perfekt in unsere Zeit und spiegelt die Stimmung der Band wider: es ist sehr aggressiv und energisch – Attack!“
Obwohl Brainstorm eine lange Geschichte haben, ähnlich wie die alte Indus-Zivilisation, sind sie immer noch am Puls der Zeit. Ihr neuestes Opus kombiniert charakteristische Elemente mit einer frischen, modernen Note, die dem Album deutlich ihren Stempel aufgedrückt hat. Außerdem glänzt der „Attack Mode“-Ansatz der Band mit einer Reihe kraftvoller Tracks – keine langsamen Songs, keine Balladen, nur reiner, energiegeladener Metal.
„Natürlich haben wir uns über die Jahre weiterentwickelt. Aber ich denke, wir haben etwas, das viele Bands in diesen Tagen verloren haben: Unabhängigkeit. Du kannst einen Brainstorm-Song schon nach wenigen Sekunden erkennen. Das ist perfekt und macht uns irgendwie besonders“, kommentiert der Frontmann.
Neben der Zusammenarbeit mit bekannten Partnern haben sich Brainstorm auf Neuland begeben: Das Booking wird jetzt von Decibel-Touring betreut und seit kurzem hat man einen Plattenvertrag mit Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM) unterschrieben.
Brainstorm erklären: „Für uns ist es mehr als nur eine Band: Die persönlichen Verbindungen und die Chemie zwischen uns machen diese Gruppe zu etwas Besonderem, das man heutzutage nur noch selten findet. Unsere Musik in die Hände eines neuen Labels zu legen, ist eine der wichtigsten und vertrauensvollsten Entscheidungen überhaupt. Vom ersten Treffen und Gespräch an hatten wir mit RPM eine sensationelle, vertrauensvolle Basis, die keinen Zweifel daran ließ, mit wem wir in Zukunft zusammenarbeiten wollten. Als süddeutsche Band bei einem süddeutschen Label zu landen, ist das Beste, was uns in unserer Karriere passieren konnte. Wir freuen uns wirklich auf viele erfolgreiche Jahre! Wir sind unglaublich stolz, nun zur RPM-Familie zu gehören und bedanken uns für das entgegengebrachte Vertrauen. „Plague Of Rats“ ist der perfekte Beginn dieser besonderen Verbindung. RPM-Geschäftsführer Jochen Richert schmunzelt: „Hätte sich Porsche für eine Zusammenarbeit mit Daimler statt mit Volkswagen entschieden, hätten sie eine gewaltige Ladung schwäbischer Power auslösen können, die nur mit der Energie dieser neuen Vereinigung von Brainstorm und uns zu vergleichen ist. Ihr neues Album entfesselt so viel Pferdestärken und katapultiert das Quintett direkt in die Formel 1 des Metals. Auf der begleitenden Release-Tour werden Brainstorm noch mehr Sprit versprühen und die Dächer aller Hallen zum Beben bringen.“

Singer Andy B. Franck explains: „The history of India dates back to 5,000 years and the Indus civilization is one of the oldest in the entire world. With ‚Maharaja Palace‘ (‚Ambiguity‘) but especially our breakthrough with the album „Soul Temptation,“ it was important to me to bring my penchant for this history and culture into our music. I think it just fits well with the sound of BRAINSTORM. I love the sound and harmonies in the Indian music and I think it was about time to delve into history again and to bring this very special shine into our music.“

Though BRAINSTORM have a long history, much like the ancient Indus civilization, they’re still in tune with the times. Their latest opus combines signature elements with a fresh, modern edge that’s clearly left its mark on the album. Plus, the band’s ‚attack mode‘ approach shines through with a line-up of powerful tracks – no slow songs, no ballads, just pure, high-energy metal.
„Of course, we have developed over the years. But I think we have something that many bands have lost in these days: independence. You can f***ing recognize a BRAINSTORM song after just a few seconds. That’s perfect and somehow makes us special,“ the frontman comments.
