Du kennst ihn gut. Der allgegenwärtige Gitarrist, Songwriter und Produzent Soren Andersen- oder Sören Andersen, wie sie ihn außerhalb von DK nennen. Wenn du ihn noch nicht live mit Electric Guitars oder Glenn Hughes (ex Deep Purple/Black Sabbath) gehört hast, dann hast du ihn vielleicht schon einmal auf YouTube in einer Folge von Soren’s Sunday Sessions gesehen? Man kann ihn auch im Medley Studio in Kopenhagen antreffen, wo er seine tägliche Routine absolviert.
Soren Andersen ist ein Weltklasse-Gitarrist/Produzent/Songwriter, der in Kopenhagen wohnt – wenn er nicht gerade auf Welttournee ist. Er ist einer der meistgebrauchten Rockgitarristen in ganz Skandinavien. Er ist – und war – auf einigen der größten Bühnen der Welt und in der Gesellschaft einiger der größten Musiker der Branche. In den letzten 15 Jahren war Soren Stammgitarrist von Glenn Hughes und spielte mit Mike Tramp (ex-White Lion), Marco Mendoza & Tommy Aldridge (ex-Whitesnake/ Thin Lizzy), Joe Lynn Turner (ex-Rainbow), Pretty Maids, The Dead Daisies, The Answer, Dave Mustaine (Megadeth), Eric Martin & Billy Sheehan (MR. Big), Electric Guitars, Jesper Binzer (D:A:D) und Sanne Salomonsen… Dazu kommen noch eine Menge Gastauftritte mit Leuten von den Red Hot Chili Peppers, Joe Bonamassa, Myles Kennedy und ja, die Liste ließe sich fortsetzen. Lob gab es von einem Gitarrenkollegen nach der Veröffentlichung von Glenn Hughes‘ „Resonate“, auf dem Soren natürlich auch Gitarre spielt.
Megastar und Gitarrenvirtuose Joe Satriani sagte folgendes über Sørens Spiel: „Dieser Gitarrist ist jemand, den ich nicht kenne und der auch der Co-Produzent ist, Sören Andersen. Und Mann, er ist so gut… Søren kann es mit den ganz Großen der klassischen Gitarre aufnehmen, aber Søren ist voll und ganz in der Zukunft. Sein Spiel klingt sehr natürlich und er schafft es, zu den Songs zu spielen, während er immer noch einige verrückte Texturen einbaut. Seine Notenwahl ist interessant… Jedes Mal, wenn ich die Platte auflege, denke ich: Hey, das habe ich vorher noch nicht gehört“ – Große Worte von einer wahren Gitarrenlegende…
„Ich war selten so stolz auf etwas wie auf dieses Album“, sagt Soren. „Ich lebe und atme Live-Musik, und es sind die schrägen Bretter, auf die sie wirklich auf mich zutrifft. Dass wir an diesem Abend in meiner Heimatstadt SO ein gutes Konzert abgeliefert haben, macht mir richtig gute Laune. Wenn ich mir die Aufnahmen anhöre, höre ich ein Trio in Topform, wir waren gut in der Tour, da sehe ich mal wieder, dass sich harte Arbeit am Ende auszahlt. Michael und Allan spielen, als wäre es das letzte Mal in ihrem Leben – ich könnte mir keine bessere Rhythmusgruppe wünschen. Es ist ein Vergnügen, mit den Jungs zu spielen. Erstklassige Musiker“.

You can also come across him in the Medley Studio in Copenhagen where he does his daily routine.
Soren Andersen is a world-class guitarist/producer/songwriter, residing in Copenhagen – when he’s not on a world tour. He’s one of the most used rock guitarists in all of Scandinavia. He is – and has been – on some of the biggest stages around the world and in the company of some of the greatest musicians in the industry. Over the past 15 years, Soren has been a regular guitarist for Glenn Hughes and played with Mike Tramp (ex-White Lion), Marco Mendoza & Tommy Aldridge (ex-Whitesnake/ Thin Lizzy), Joe Lynn Turner (ex-Rainbow), Pretty Maids, The Dead Daisies, The Answer, Dave Mustaine (Megadeth), Eric Martin & Billy Sheehan (MR. There was praise from a guitar colleague after the release of Glenn Hughes’ “Resonate”, on which Soren of course also plays guitar.
Mega star and guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani said the following about Søren’s playing on: “This guitarist is somebody I don’t know and who’s also the co-producer, Soren Andersen. And man, he’s so good… Soren is up there with the classic guitar greats, but Soren is totally into the future. His playing is very natural-sounding, and he manages to perform to the songs while still putting in some crazy textures. His choice of notes is interesting… Every time I put the record on, I go: Hey, I didn’t hear that before”- Big words from a true guitar legend…
“I’ve rarely been as proud of something as I am of this album”, Soren says. “I live and breathe live music, and it’s on the slant boards that it really applies to me. That we delivered SUCH a good concert that night in my hometown, puts me in a really good mood. When I listen to the recordings I hear a trio in top form, we were well into the tour, so I can once again see that hard work pays off in the end. Michael and Allan play like it was the last time in their lives – I couldn’t wish for a better rhythm section. It’s a pleasure to play with the boys. Top-shelf musicians”.
