Mit dieser Ankündigung lässt Ozzy Osbourne die Herzen aller Metal-Fans höher schlagen: Auf Twitter kündigt der zuletzt arg gebeutelte Sänger unter dem Motto „Back to the Beginning – The Final Show“ für den Sommer (05. Juli) das letzte Konzert von Black Sabbath an, und die Genre-prägende Kombo tritt im legendären Line-up auf.

Metal-Ikonen kommen zusammen, um zu feiern Ozzy Osbournes letzter Auftritt am 05. Juli im Villa Park, Birmingham

Alle Gewinne aus der Show werden zu gleichen Teilen zwischen Cure Parkinson’s, dem Birmingham Children’s Hospital und dem Acorn Children’s Hospice aufgeteilt

Die originalen Black Sabbath – Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler und Bill Ward – werden zum ersten Mal seit 20 Jahren wieder spielen. Die Band wird am 5. Juli im Villa Park als Headliner BACK TO THE BEGINNING auf die Bühne gehen.

Das All-Star-Event feiert die wahren Schöpfer des Heavy Metal und Ozzy Osbourne wird sein eigenes kurzes Set spielen, bevor er sich mit Black Sabbath für seine letzte Verbeugung zusammentut.

„Es ist meine Zeit, zurück zu den Anfängen zu gehen… Es ist Zeit für mich, dem Ort, an dem ich geboren wurde, etwas zurückzugeben“, sagte Ozzy Osbourne. „Wie gesegnet bin ich, dies mit der Hilfe von Menschen zu tun, die ich liebe. Birmingham ist die wahre Heimat des Metals. Birmingham für immer.“

Black Sabbath wurden 1968 in Birmingham gegründet und wurden zu einer der erfolgreichsten Metal-Bands aller Zeiten. Black Sabbath haben im Laufe ihrer legendären Karriere weltweit über 75 Millionen Alben verkauft. Als Blaupause für die vielen Wege, die der Heavy Metal einschlug, ist der Einfluss und die Bedeutung von Black Sabbath heute genauso wichtig wie in den frühen 1970er Jahren.

Music Director Tom Morello sagte: „Das wird die größte Heavy-Metal-Show aller Zeiten.“

BACK TO THE BEGINNING wird Sets von Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice in Chains, Lamb of God, Anthrax und Mastodon enthalten

An der ganztägigen Veranstaltung wird auch eine Supergroup von Musikern teilnehmen. Zu den bisher angekündigten Künstlern gehören Billy Corgan (The Smashing Pumpkins), David Draiman (Disturbed), Duff McKagan & Slash (Guns ’n Roses), Frank Bello (Anthrax), Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit), Jake E Lee, Jonathan Davis (Korn), KK Downing, Lzzy Hale (Halestorm), Mike Bordin (Faith No More), Rudy Sarzo, Sammy Hagar, Scott Ian (Anthrax), Sleep Token ii (Sleep Token), Papa V Perpetua (Ghost), Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine), Wolfgang Van Halen und Zakk Wylde.

The original Black Sabbath – Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward – will play for the first time in 20 years. The band will take to the stage to headline BACK TO THE BEGINNING on July 5th at Villa Park.

The all-star event will celebrate the true creators of heavy metal and will see Ozzy Osbourne play his own short set before joining with Black Sabbath for his final bow.

“It’s my time to go Back to the Beginning… time for me to give back to the place where I was born,” Ozzy Osbourne said. “How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.”

Formed in Birmingham in 1968 and going on to become one of most successful metal bands of all time, Black Sabbath have sold over 75 million albums worldwide across their legendary career. Setting the blueprint for the many routes heavy metal took, Black Sabbath’s influence and importance is as vital today as it was in the early 1970s.

Music Director Tom Morello said: “This will be the greatest heavy metal show ever.”
