Nameless Grave Records begrüßt die in Rochester, New York ansässige Heavy-Metal-Band Blizaro zur Veröffentlichung ihres dritten Albums „Light And Desolation“.

2003 in den schneebeladenen Landschaften des oberen New Yorks gegründet, ist Blizaro das kreative Projekt von John Gallo, einem Multiinstrumentalisten und Klangalchemisten, der eine filmische Sensibilität in das langsame Brennen des Genres einbringt. Von doom-durchtränkten Klagegesängen bis zu synth-lackierten Freakouts, ist der Sound so evocativ wie schwer. Gallo ist außerdem der Gitarrist und Gründer der traditionellen Doom-Band Orodruin bei Cruz Del Sur Records und spielte zuvor mit Dan Lilker in Crucifist, die 2009 das Album „Demon-Haunted World“ auf Profound Lore Records veröffentlichten.

Mit Kultfavoriten wie der Horror Rock Debüt-Kassette (selbstveröffentlicht – 2006), „City Of The Living Nightmare“ (Razorback Records – 2011), „Cornucopia Della Morte“ (I, Voidhanger – 2016) und einer Live-Präsenz, die mehr Beschwörung als Setlist zu sein scheint, verzaubert Blizaro weiterhin das Underground mit einer einzigartig fremdartigen Doom-Vision.

Blizaro liefert nun das triumphale dritte vollständige Album „Light And Desolation“ und bringt neun fesselnde neue Hymnen hervor. Hier schwebt Blizaro durch den schweren Nebel des Doom Metals mit dem inspirierenden Katalysator von Goblin, Pagan Altar, Tangerine Dream und Paul Chain, während sie filmische Klanglandschaften mit einem Gespür für das Theatralische weben. Geboren aus den harten Echos italienischer Horrorsoundtracks und des Prog Rocks der 70er Jahre sowie Doom und Heavy Metal, beschwört die Band eine Welt, in der düstere Riffs, melodische Geschichten und kosmische Verzweiflung aufeinanderprallen.

„Light And Desolation“ wurde in den Doom Shore Studios aufgenommen und gemischt, remixt von Andrew Lee (Ripped To Shreds, Houkago Grind Time), gemastert von Zane Knight (Gates Of Paradox, Eternal Crypt) und mit Artwork und Layout von John Gallo vervollständigt.

Die erste Audio-Vorschau des Albums kommt mit „Lightning Strikes Back“, über das Gallo enthüllt: „‘Lightning Strike Back’ ist eine Geschichte über einen Zauberer, der Rache an den Stadtbewohnern nimmt, die ihn verbannt haben. Es geht darum, über einen langen Zeitraum hinweg die Macht zurückzugewinnen, nachdem man ausgebeutet wurde – ähnlich wie der Prozess des Schreibens des Songs und wie er entstanden ist. Formed in 2003 in the snow-laden landscapes of upstate New York, BLIZARO is the mind offering of John Gallo, a multi-instrumentalist and sonic alchemist who brings a film-score sensibility to the genre’s slow burn. From doom-drenched dirges to synth-laced freakouts, a sound that is as evocative as it is heavy. Gallo is also the guitarist/founder of traditional doom band Orodruin on Cruz Del Sur Records, and previously played with Dan Lilker in Crucifist, who released Demon-Haunted World on Profound Lore Records in 2009.

Born from the stark echoes of Italian horror scores and ‘70s prog rock as well as doom and heavy metal, the band conjures a world where brooding riffs, melodic tales, and cosmic despair collide.

Light And Desolation was recorded and mixed at Doom Shore Studios, remixed by Andrew Lee (Ripped To Shreds, Houkago Grind Time), mastered by Zane Knight (Gates Of Paradox, Eternal Crypt), and completed with artwork and layout by John Gallo. Fans of Black Sabbath, ‘70s Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Uriah Heep, Candlemass, Trouble, Run After To, Black Hole, Nigro Mantia, Future Shock, Sarcofagis, Vangelis, and Mike Oldfield should immerse themselves in the world of BLIZARO.

The lead audio preview of the album arrives through “Lightning Strikes Back,” about which Gallo reveals, “‘Lightning Strike Back’ is a story about a wizard that has his revenge on the townspeople who exiled him. It’s about regaining power over a long period of time of being tapped dry – kind of like the process of writing the song and how it came to be. It was heavily inspired by the album Ancient Dreams by Candlemass, going for a fantasy doom metal vibe, and the solo interlude was inspired by Bewitched.”
