Um die Ankündigung zu feiern, veröffentlicht Cold Steel auch eine neue Single, „No Escape,“ begleitet von einem Musikvideo.
Zu der neuen Single kommentiert Cold Steel: „‚No Escape‘ konzentriert sich auf den Kampf, man selbst zu sein, die Falle, etwas zu werden, was man nicht ist, und das Gleichgewicht zwischen Authentizität und Überleben. Wir haben nicht gewählt, hier zu sein, aber wir können wählen, wie wir das Spiel spielen. Wir sind darauf konditioniert, die Dinge um uns herum nicht zu hinterfragen, uns anzupassen und Emotionen tief zu begraben. Wir bauen Mauern so hoch, dass wir unseren Ausweg nicht mehr sehen können. In diesem Stück geht es viel um Identität, Druck, Kontrolle und die Erkenntnis, dass, wenn man das, wovor man wegläuft, nicht konfrontiert, es einen letztlich einholen wird.“
Die patentierte Marke von Cold Steel für aggressiven, Hardcore/Thrash Metal nimmt auf ‚Discipline & Punish‘ keine Gefangenen, dem Debütalbum der Band für Spinefarm. Um das Album zum Leben zu erwecken, zog die Gruppe nach Philadelphia und arbeitete mit Produzent Arthur Rizk (Blood Incantation, Power Trip, Cavalera) zusammen. Im Studio griffen sie auf Einflüsse wie Metallica, Machine Head und Slipknot zurück, während sie ihren eigenen charakteristischen Sound schärften und festigten.
Zur Produktion/Mischung von ‚Discipline & Punish‘ und der Zusammenarbeit mit Cold Steel kommentiert Arthur Rizk: „Die Zusammenarbeit mit Cold Steel hat eine Menge Spaß gemacht, hauptsächlich wegen ihrer Einstellung zur Erstellung des Albums. Sie waren voll und ganz in das Projekt vertieft und bereit, jeden Weg zu gehen, bis etwas Erinnerungswürdiges erreicht wurde. Die Zusammenarbeit mit Matt Heafy war für alle eine großartige Erfahrung, da er viele Entscheidungen ermutigte und unterstützte. To celebrate the announcement, COLD STEEL also unleashes a ferocious new single, „No Escape,“ accompanied by a music video.
On the new single, COLD STEEL comments: “’No Escape‘ focuses on the struggle of being yourself, the trap of becoming something you’re not, and the balance between being authentic and survival. We didn’t choose to be here, but we can choose how we play the game. We’re conditioned not to question the things around us, to fall in line and bury emotions deep. We build walls so high that we can no longer see our way out. There’s a lot in this track about identity, pressure, control, and realizing that if you don’t confront what you’ve been running from, it will eventually catch up to you.”
COLD STEEL’s patented brand of aggressive, hardcore thrash metal takes no prisoners on ‚Discipline & Punish,‘ the band’s full-length debut for Spinefarm. To bring the album to life, the group decamped to Philadelphia and teamed with producer Arthur Rizk (Blood Incantation, Power Trip, Cavalera). In the studio, they drew on influences like Metallica, Machine Head, and Slipknot while sharpening and solidifying their own signature sound.
