Ihre Musik ist manchmal psychedelisch und subtil proggy und reist durch die Zeitalter und rückt dabei aktuelle Themen wie Umweltzerstörung, Kommunikationszusammenbrüche und die Unfähigkeit der Menschheit, eine gemeinsame Basis zu finden, in den Vordergrund. Am Ende ist die reichhaltige und seelenbewegende Musik der Schweden ein Gefäß der Hoffnung und erinnert uns daran, dass die Liebe immer einen Weg finden wird.

Über das Thema des Albums sagt die Band: „„Before The Dawn Of Time“ ist unsere Sicht auf die Welt, in der wir heute leben, sowohl in einem größeren Rahmen als auch als Individuen. Was sind die wichtigen Dinge im Leben? Was können wir als Mitmenschen tun, um sie zu einem besseren Ort zu machen? Die Dunkelheit ist im Anmarsch oder vielleicht ist sie schon da, wie ein Schleier verzerrt sie unsere Sicht auf die Dinge. Die Texte handeln von unserem Versagen in der Kommunikation, der Art und Weise, wie wir unsere Umwelt behandeln und wie die Natur reagiert, wenn sie von uns provoziert wird, von denen, die am Tor stehen und sagen müssen, dass es genug ist, von der Tatsache, dass Liebe, Vertrauen ineinander und Hoffnung der einzig wahre Ausweg aus diesem Schlamassel ist und dass die Entfernung zwischen unseren Sternen und Galaxien wächst. Die Texte und Arrangements sind verträumt und psychedelisch, doch der Sound ist dicht und organisch, von der Band live im besten Vintage-Studio Schwedens, dem Svenska Grammofonstudion, aufgenommen.“

Gin Lady wurde 2011 im Norden Schwedens gegründet. Die Band ist eine höchst produktive Einheit und am stärksten in einem Sound verwurzelt, der die frühen 70er Jahre mit viel Classic Rock vermischt, gemischt mit starken Melodien, die mit dreistimmigen Harmonien dargeboten werden. Frühe Arbeiten wie „Gin Lady“ (2011), „Mother’s Ruin“ (2013), „Call the Nation“ (2015), „Electric Earth“ (2017), „Tall Sun Crooked Moon“ (2019) und „Camping with Bohdi“ (2021) zeigen ihre rasante Entwicklung als Songwriter, die nicht stillstehen und Moos sammeln.

Gin Lady hat eine Vielzahl von Shows in Schweden und Europa gespielt und ist bekannt für ihre Liebe zur Improvisation und atemberaubende Jams für ein einzigartiges Live-Erlebnis. Im Jahr 2024 unterzeichneten sie bei dem kalifornischen Label Ripple Music und werden im Februar 2025 ihr siebtes Studioalbum Before the Dawn of Time“ (aufgenommen im klassischen Studio Svenska Grammofonstudion in Göteborg) veröffentlichen. Swedish 70s rock maestros GIN LADY announce the release of their new album „Before The Dawn Of Time“ on February 7th through Ripple Music.

GIN LADY melds American roots rock with warm and shimmering 70s rock influences into a timeless and uplifting tapestry of velvety grooves, soft and finely chiseled riffs and stunning 3-way vocal melodies. At times psychedelic and subtly proggy, their music travels the ages while bringing to the forefront topical themes such as environmental destruction, communication breakdowns and humanity’s unability to find common ground. In the end, the Swedes‘ rich and soul-stirring music is a vessel for hope, reminding us that love will always find a way. 

About the album theme, the band comments: „Before The Dawn Of Time“ is our view of the world that we live in today both on a larger scale and as individuals in it. What are the important things in life? What can we do as fellow humans to make it a better place? There’s a darkness coming or maybe it’s already here, as a veil, it distorts the way we look at things. The lyrics deal with our failure to communicate, the way we treat our environment and the way nature reacts when provoked by us, the ones that need to stand at the gates and say that’s enough, the fact that love, trust in one another and hope is the only true way out of this mess and that the distance grows between our stars and galaxies. It’s dreamy and psychedelic in lyrics and arrangements yet the sound is tight and organic, recorded live by the band in the best vintage studio in Sweden, Svenska Grammofonstudion.„

Gin Lady was formed in the northern parts of Sweden in 2011. The band is a highly productive unit and is most strongly rooted in a sound that oozes the early 70s with plenty of classic rock mixed with strong melodies delivered with three-part harmonies. Early work such as Gin Lady (2011), Mother’s Ruin (2013), Call the Nation (2015), Electric Earth (2017), Tall Sun Crooked Moon (2019) and Camping with Bohdi (2021) shows their skyrocketing progression as songwriters, ones who won’t stand still and gather moss.

Gin Lady has played a wide array of shows in Sweden and Europe and are known for their love of improvisation and stunning jams for a unique live experience. In 2024, they signed to Californian label Ripple Music for the world release of their seventh studio album ’Before the Dawn of Time’ (recorded at the classic studio Svenska Grammofonstudion in Gothenburg) in February 2025. The band will kick off the new year with a tour of Spain.
