Die aus Griechenland stammenden Naxatras sind seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 2012 ein Kraftpaket in der Welt des modernen Psychedelic Rock. Mit einem charakteristischen Sound, der von den warmen Vintage-Vibes der 70er Jahre durchdrungen ist, verwebt ihre Musik groovige Rhythmen, verträumte Melodien, donnernde Riffs und wunderschön fesselnde Gitarrensoli.
Naxatras nahmen ihr selbstbetiteltes Debütalbum 2015 bei Magnetic Fidelity auf, wobei der renommierte Toningenieur Jesus I. Agnew den Prozess leitete. Das Album wurde komplett analog aufgenommen, abgemischt und gemastert, wobei alle Tracks an nur einem Tag live eingespielt wurden. Naxatras wurde schnell zu einem Meilenstein des Genres, erntete viel Lob von der Kritik und zementierte seinen Platz als eines der meistverkauften Alben in seinem Bereich. Im Jahr 2016 veröffentlichten Naxatras ihr zweites Album „II“ sowie eine neue EP. Der Schwung setzte sich 2017 mit der Veröffentlichung der Single „All the Stars Collide Into a Single Ray“ und der Aufnahme ihres dritten Albums fort, bei dem sie erneut auf vollständig analoge Live-Aufnahmeverfahren setzten. „III“ wurde 2018 veröffentlicht, gefolgt von einem Live-Album, das ihren elektrisierenden, ausverkauften Auftritt in Athens kultigem Veranstaltungsort Gagarin 205 festhält.
Für ihr viertes Album „IV“ (2022) erweiterten Naxatras ihren Klanghorizont, indem sie den Multiinstrumentalisten Pantelis Kargas an Bord holten, um ihren Sound mit Keyboards und Synthesizern zu bereichern. Das Artwork, eine atemberaubende Kreation des langjährigen Mitarbeiters und Freundes Chris RW, setzt die künstlerische Partnerschaft fort, die alle ihre Veröffentlichungen visuell geprägt hat. Die Band ist für ihre energiegeladenen Live-Auftritte bekannt, bei denen sie Elemente aus Psychedelic/Progressive Rock, Stoner, Funk, Jazz, elektronischer und östlicher Musik mit einer trippigen Videowand kombiniert, um die Sinne vollends zu stimulieren. Sie haben zahlreiche Tourneen unternommen und sind in den meisten europäischen Ländern aufgetreten, darunter auf renommierten Festivals wie Desertfest, Ozora und Dunajam sowie auf einer Tournee in Australien.
Naxatras haben es immer geschafft, ihr unabhängiges DIY-Ethos zu bewahren, während der Produktionswert ihrer Alben, Musikvideos und Merchandise durchweg erstklassig ist. Ihre höchst originellen Werke existieren in einem eigenen Universum, sowohl konzeptionell als auch ästhetisch.
