Oversize haben ihr atemberaubendes Debütalbum „Vital Signs“ angekündigt, das am 28. Februar 2025 über SharpTone erscheinen wird.
Die Band kommentiert die Single wie folgt: „Obwohl ‚Vital Signs‘ technisch gesehen der Titelsong des Albums ist, wurde er ursprünglich als Albumabschluss geschrieben und von Anfang bis Ende in weniger als einer Stunde fertiggestellt. Ich denke, dass die Einfachheit des Songs und die frei fließende Struktur in Kombination mit zusätzlichen Produktionselementen – Drumloops und super gesättigte und effektlastige Gitarren – diesem Song ein einzigartiges Gefühl innerhalb unseres Songkatalogs geben. Textlich dreht sich der Song, ähnlich wie der Rest des Albums, um eine Reise der Trauer und die Akzeptanz von Verlust. Wir hatten das Gefühl, dass der Text ‚Vital Signs‘ die perfekte Zusammenfassung für das Album als Ganzes ist.“
Über das Album sagt die Band weiter: „Es fühlt sich sehr surreal an, endlich unser Debüt-Album zu veröffentlichen. Ziemlich genau seit der Gründung der Band wussten wir, dass wir eine ‚Album-Band‘ sein wollten. Obwohl wir bereits zwei EPs veröffentlicht hatten, hatten wir immer genug Material für ein komplettes Album geschrieben, so dass wir nach der zweiten EP wussten, dass es Zeit war, den Sprung zu wagen. Das Album wurde in weniger als zwei Wochen im The Ranch Production House aufgenommen. Wir haben eng mit dem Produzenten Lewis Johns zusammengearbeitet, um etwas zu schaffen, auf das wir wirklich stolz sind.
„Es war immer unser Ziel, ein Album zu schreiben, bei dem jeder Song seine eigene Identität hat, aber dennoch als Ganzes funktioniert. Wir waren uns wirklich bewusst, dass das Album nicht zu ‚gleichförmig‘ klingen sollte, aber gleichzeitig auch nicht wie eine Playlist von zufälligen Songs. Wir fühlen uns immer noch sehr geehrt, dass SharpTone unsere Leidenschaft und Vision für das Album teilt und können es kaum erwarten, dass die Leute es endlich hören.“

OVERSIZE have announced their stunning debut album Vital Signs, due 28th February 2025 via SharpTone.
Of the single, the band comment: „While ‚Vital Signs‘ is technically the title track of the album, it was originally written as an album closer and from start to finish was written comfortably in under an hour. I think the simplicity of the song and the free-flowing structure combined with extra production elements – drum loops and super saturated and effect heavy guitars – give this song a unique feel within our catalogue of songs. Lyrically much like the rest of the album, the song revolves around a journey of grief and the acceptance of loss. We felt the lyric ‘Vital Signs’ was the perfect summary for the album as a whole.“
On the album, the band continue: „It feels very surreal to finally be releasing our debut full-length. Pretty much since the start of the band we knew we wanted to be an ‘album band’. Even through we had released two EPs previously we’ve always had enough material written to make a full length, so we knew after the second EP it was time to make the jump. Recorded in under two weeks at The Ranch Production House, we closely collaborated with producer Lewis Johns to create something we’re really proud of.
„It was always our aim to write an album where each song has its own identity yet still works holistically as an album, we were really conscious of the album not sounding to ‘samey’ yet the same time not feeling like a playlist of random songs. We’re still so honoured that SharpTone shares our passion and vision for the record and can’t wait for people to finally hear it.“
