Oblivion ist ein traumhaft verschwommenes Lied, ein Song mit einem starken Kontrast zwischen gewalttätigem Blast-Beat und aggressiven Schreien. Einige Teile sind fast psychedelisch, es ist sicherlich eine eigene Reise, eine Mischung aus Höhen und Tiefen. Es gibt ein seltsames, fast mystisches Gefühl im ganzen Lied. Es gibt ein paar sehr einprägsame Gitarrenmelodien und starke Basslinien. „In der Stille hören die Tauben ihr Geschrei.“

Serpent God ist eine Band, die 2023 in Iisalmi, Finnland, gegründet wurde. Die Entstehung steht in engem Zusammenhang mit dem Schreibprozess der Band Se, josta ei puhuta; es wurden viele Materialien erstellt, die nicht in das Spektrum von „Se, josta ei puhuta“ passten. Im Allgemeinen war das Material langsamer und gruseliger. Allerdings war das erwähnte Material auch viel zu gut, um gelöscht zu werden, weshalb eine weitere Ausgabe benötigt wurde, und so wurde Serpent God geboren. Verschiedene Zweige wachsen aus einem Baum mit starken Wurzeln. Serpent God hat seine Grundlage im Extreme Metal, aber es gibt auch starke Einflüsse aus Post-Rock, Doom und kleinere Einflüsse von avantgardistischen Klängen.

Finnish melodic death/doom metal band Serpent God is set to release their debut album ‚Denial‘ on October 10th 2025 via Inverse Records.

The band comments:
”Chase eternal serpent, fly high above the stars”  Not your standard power ballad. Oblivion is a dream-like hazy, a song with a heavy contrast from violent blast beat and aggressive screams. Some parts are almost psychedelic, it’s certainly a trip on its own, mixed highs and lows. There’s a strange, almost mystic feeling throughout the song. There’s couple of very memorable guitar leads and strong bass lines. “In silence the deaf hear their scream”

Serpent God is a band formed 2023 in Iisalmi, Finland. The birth is heavily related to Se, josta ei puhuta -band’s writing process; lots of material were created that didn’t fit in the spectrum of Se, josta ei puhuta. In general, the material was more slow-paced and more eerie. However, the mentioned material was also way too good to be deleted, so therefore another output was needed, so Serpent God was born. Different branches grow from a tree with strong roots. Serpent God has its foundation in extreme metal, but there are also heavy influences from post-rock, doom and smaller splashes of more avantgarde sounds.
