Stellt euch kurz für die vor, die euch noch nicht kennen!
Fabz: Also quasi ALLE? Hallo wir sind Sculforge aus Mannheim und wir spielen sinnlos schnellen Power Metal. Ausserdem sehen wir verdammt gut aus! (Anm. d.Red. Und immer gut gelaunt! – Beweis: HIER)
Besetzungswechsel und Umzug brachten….?
Fabz: Einen nagelneuen schönen Bassisten! Unser Alter war schon ganz ansehnlich aber der neue ist echt Sahne! Außerdem wohnen wir jetzt alle nah beieinander! Das macht das Proben einfacher, aber eigentlich proben wir eh nie, von daher hats eigentlich nix gebracht. Außer das wir uns jetzt gegenseitig immer helfen müssen wenn’s drum geht schwere Sachen von A nach B zu schleppen.
Über das neue Album
„Make Space Great Again“ ist das Motto eures neuen Albums „Cosmic Crusade Chronicles“. Was versteht ihr darunter?
Fabz: Na wenn Du das so sagst 🙂 Ich wollte ja Friede, Freude, Eiersalat. Aber das wurde abgelehnt. Wir finden es aber unverschämt, dass in den USA ein orangener Mann im blauen Anzug rumläuft, der behauptet das Motto wäre so oder so ähnlich seine Idee gewesen. Wir prüfen grade rechtliche Schritte. Denn sowas geht echt nicht!
Ihr habt nochmal eine Schippe in punkto Wahnsinn, Power und Kreativität drauf gelegt. Stimmt das?
Fabz: Ja, klar! Ich für meinen Teil hab endlich gelernt außer schnell auch noch tight zu spielen! Gamechanger sag ich Dir! Und dann haben wir ja noch unser Brain, Polly. Der hat sich im Urlaub auf Mallorca zwischen dem ersten und letzten Caipi eine Storyline einfallen lassen, die ihresgleichen sucht! Episch sag ich Dir! Katzen kommen drin vor und Bier und Portale!
Wenn ihr „Cosmic Crusade Chronicles“ mit „Intergalactic Battle Tunes“ (2023) vergleicht – was gefällt euch beim neusten Werk besser oder was ist bei beiden Alben gleich geblieben?
Fabz: Gleich geblieben ist eigentlich nur die Tatsache, dass wir unseren Drummer Chris immer wieder ärgern, indem wir Songs noch schneller als ursprünglich geplant machen. Das ist fies, tut aber seiner Gesundheit gut, weil er fit bleiben muss und somit Sport macht! Win Win!
Fragen aus Neugier
Eure Alben handeln rund um die Galaxie. Auch persönlich euer Lieblingsthema, das Weltall?
Fabz: Ja klar, Polly hat ja Astrologie studiert und wollte als Kind immer schon Astronaut werden. Ich bin Quantenphysiker auf 400€ Basis und die beiden anderen machen auch „irgendwas mit Weltraum“. Nein, Spass! Aber braucht es wirklich noch eine Power Metal Band die über Einhörner, Elfen und Herr der Ringe singt? Wir glauben nicht! Außerdem sind wir alle große Sci-Fi Fans. Alien, Mars Attacks, Starship Troopers usw. Vielleicht machen wir ja mal ne Platte mit ganz vielen verschiedenen Songs mit Film Background!
Polly: Du hast Warhammer 40k vergessen!
Spaß steht bei eurer Musik und bei euren Auftritten im Vordergrund. Wie motiviert man sich, wenn man mal selbst nicht so gut drauf ist?
Fabz: Als Band ergibt es Sinn wenn man sich gut versteht. Bei uns steht der Spaß an der Band im Vordergrund. Wir ziehen uns gegenseitig hoch. Selbst wenn mal jemand ’nen schlechten Tag hat, geht das schnell vorbei, weil irgendwer immer ’nen dummen Witz macht oder sich einnässt oder sowas.
Was ist in nächster Zukunft bei euch geplant? Konzerte? Festivals?Promotouren?
Polly: Wir hatten eine Tour geplant, die wurde leider wegen zu geringer VVK-Zahlen abgesagt. Darum werden wir uns jetzt erst mal daran machen, ein paar neue Songs zu schreiben, so dass es zum Jahresende ein, zwei neue Videos von uns gibt.

Fabz: So basically EVERYONE? Hello, we are Sculforge from Mannheim and we play senselessly fast power metal. We also look damn good!
Sculforge stands for…?
Fabz: Sculforge stands for senselessly fast power metal! Catchy melodies and taking what you do seriously, but not yourself! We are the A-Team of Power Metal!
Line-up change and relocation brought….?
Fabz: A brand new beautiful bass player! Our old one was already quite respectable but the new one is really great! Plus, we all live close to each other now! That makes rehearsing easier, but actually we never rehearse anyway, so it hasn’t really helped. Except that now we always have to help each other when it comes to carrying heavy things from A to B.
About the new Album
„Make Space Great Again“ is the motto of your new album „Cosmic Crusade Chronicles“. What do you mean by that?
Fabz: Well, if you put it like that 🙂 I wanted peace, joy and egg salad. But that was rejected. But we think it’s outrageous that an orange man in a blue suit is running around in the USA claiming that the motto was his idea. We are currently considering legal action. Because that’s really not on!
You’ve gone one better in terms of madness, power and creativity. Is that true?
Fabz: Yes, of course! I for one have finally learned to play tight as well as fast! Gamechanger I tell you! And then there’s our brain, Polly. He came up with a storyline on vacation in Mallorca between the first and last caipi that is second to none! Epic I tell you! There are cats in it and beer and portals!
If you compare “Cosmic Crusade Chronicles” with “Intergalactic Battle Tunes” (2023) – what do you like better about the latest work or what has remained the same on both albums?
Fabz: The only thing that has remained the same is the fact that we keep annoying our drummer Chris by making songs even faster than originally planned. It’s nasty, but it’s good for his health because he has to stay fit and so he does sport! Win win!
Out of Curiosity
Your albums are all about the galaxy. Also your personal favorite topic, the universe?
Fabz: Yes, of course, Polly studied astrology and always wanted to be an astronaut as a child. I’m a quantum physicist on a 400€ basis and the other two also do „something with space“. No, just kidding! But do we really need another power metal band that sings about unicorns, elves and Lord of the Rings? We don’t think so! Besides, we are all big sci-fi fans. Alien, Mars Attacks, Starship Troopers, etc. Maybe we’ll make a record with a lot of different songs with a film background!
Polly: You forgot Warhammer 40k!
Fun is at the forefront of your music and your performances. How do you motivate yourself when you’re not in such a good mood?
Fabz: As a band, it makes sense to get along well. We focus on having fun in the band. We pull each other up. Even if someone has a bad day, it passes quickly because someone always makes a stupid joke or wets themselves or something.
What are your plans for the near future? Concerts? Festivals, promo tours?
Polly: We had planned a tour, but unfortunately it was canceled due to low ticket sales. That’s why we’re going to start writing a few new songs so that we can release one or two new videos by the end of the year.
